When the guard band is enabled, the effective rendering area is
increased by a certain amount (currently 16 pixels on each side) so
that screen-space effects (e.g. SSAO, SSR, DoF) behave better around
the edges of the screen. Of course, this comes at a performance and
memory cost.
Currently the guard band is not configurable other than being optional.
Added c++, java and js bindings.
This works by first generating a reflection buffer which gets blurred,
then the color pass samples from this buffer according to the roughness
of the surface being rendered.
A lot of the changes here involve utilizing "reserved" variants for
the new "SSR" pass and all the fallout from that.
This adds libs/viewer to filament-utils-android and provides JNI
bindings for AutomationEngine.
This commit also changes the AutomationEngine to use PPM for screenshots
rather than PNG. The reasoning is that it is wasteful to include stb and
our two image-related libraries just to dump screenshots, especially for
a feature we might not use on Android.
This adds a Dockerfile and a new bash script that makes it
east to invoke the appopriate Docker commands.
This does not yet enable a GitHub Action because of intermittent
issues that we have not yet ironed out.
This adds `AutomationEngine` to libs/viewer, which iterates through
`Settings` instances that were generated from a JSON spec and applies
them to a Filament `View`. It can be configured to sleep between tests
using a time delay or a frame count.
This also adds command line arguments and user-interface elements to
`gltf_viewer` for automated testing.
