- Add new library to do tiff import/export. This library is
different from imageio in that it doesn't pull in additional
3p libraries. This reduces binary size and reduces
complexity in maintaining the android build (which depends
on libs/viewer).
- The encode() code has been moved from libs/viewer to
libs/imageio-lite
- encode/decode only handles the simplest case of uncompressed
rgba.
- Extended Settings to include properties for Camera, Animation, Lights,
and Render options.
- Moved camera options from Viewer options to Camera options
- Implemented generic JSON parsing for these new settings in Settings.cpp.
- Updated AutomationEngine to apply these settings, including dynamic
creation of lights.
- Fixed a JSON parsing bug in AutomationSpec that failed on nested objects.
- Updated gltf_viewer to use the new settings and correctly initialize
AutomationEngine context.
- Add test for new json changes
- Add README to libs/viewer
- Link libs/viewer/README.md to official doc
- Remove unused libs/viewer/schemas
- Updated remote web assets (because the viewer/settings json needs to
match)
* Add a Renderer API to force skipping frames
Renderer::skipNextFrames(size_t) can be used to force filament to
pretend the next N frames must be skipped. This is mostly useful for
debugging.
* Add DebugOptions to Settings
We still need to move the "Debug" features of gltf_viewer to this,
but this give us a framework to do it.
Currently there is one debug option that allows to set a number of
frames to skip.
ViewerGui propose a button to skip 10 frames using this framework

PPM does not store alpha channel, but TIFF does. We add a method
to export RGBA to a TIFF file without compression.
We add the corresponding options to gltf_viewer and
AutomationEngine.
The default export format for both gltf_viewer and AutomationEngine
is now TIFF.
This functionality (in the Automation section) was violating a
constraint that was landed in November.
1) Call postRender inside beginFrame / endFrame.
2) Use RGBA when issuing ReadPixels (required by some backends) and
convert to RGB when dumping out the PPM file.
The focal length slider now works over a remote connection. Also, the
slider for focus distance now controls the value in `ViewerSettings`
(which gets applied to Camera) rather than the value in
`DepthOfFieldOptions` (which is deprecated).
Shockingly there were no unit tests that did a simple write-then-read.
This is important because it's easy to forget details such as trailing
commas and the fact that uint8_t is a char.
This adds libs/viewer to filament-utils-android and provides JNI
bindings for AutomationEngine.
This commit also changes the AutomationEngine to use PPM for screenshots
rather than PNG. The reasoning is that it is wasteful to include stb and
our two image-related libraries just to dump screenshots, especially for
a feature we might not use on Android.
This adds a Dockerfile and a new bash script that makes it
east to invoke the appopriate Docker commands.
This does not yet enable a GitHub Action because of intermittent
issues that we have not yet ironed out.
The Filament View that gets passed to tick() is retained briefly when
screenshots are enabled, but it may be destroyed by the time the
PixelBufferDescriptor callback is invoked. So, we needed a way of
notifying the AutomationEngine.
This adds a `material` key to `Settings`, as a sister to `view`.
Here's an example of an automation spec that manipulates material
parameters:
[{
"name": "metallic_vs_roughness",
"permute": {
"material.scalar.roughnessFactor": [0.0, 0.5, 1.0],
"material.scalar.metallicFactor": [0.0, 1.0]
}
}]
Currently this is limited to float, vec3, and vec4 parameters.
This adds `AutomationEngine` to libs/viewer, which iterates through
`Settings` instances that were generated from a JSON spec and applies
them to a Filament `View`. It can be configured to sleep between tests
using a time delay or a frame count.
This also adds command line arguments and user-interface elements to
`gltf_viewer` for automated testing.
